Meet Joy C. Cervantes
Joy started her career in 1983 as a Controller for a Real Estate Developer while attending Arizona State University. She assisted with the real estate development firm, as it grew from one to sixteen companies that handled commercial, residential and apartment developments in the Valley.
Joy graduated ASU with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1986. January 1987 she entered the public accounting field with a Certified Public Accounting Firm in Scottsdale, Arizona.
She specialized in tax preparation, tax projections and accounting services, for individuals and closely held business owners. The Firm specialized in the health care and dental fields. Joy received great training, mentorship and skills with an opportunity to grow professionally with variety of clients.
Later in January 1995, she transitioned to a Certified Public Accounting Firm in Tempe Arizona and was shortly promoted to Manager and then advanced in her career as the Firm’s Tax Director, over 21 employees. She completed her Masters Degree in Taxation at Arizona State University in December 1995. During this time, Joy continued her studies and completed the Personal Financial Planning Process Certificate of Educational Achievement Program offered by the Arizona State Society of CPA’s in 1996 and also completed her education as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning in July 1999.
In January 2001, Joy became an Income Member responsible for a growing client base. She received invaluable guidance and mentorship from the Senior Partner. In the November 2003 Joy became an Equity Partner. She provided tax planning, preparation and consulting services for a larger variety of closely held businesses and individuals in the fields of real estate, construction, hospitality, insurance, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, and professional service industries, etc.
On May 15, 2006 Joy established Joy C. Cervantes CPA, P.C. and continues to serve her clients, building a professional team and providing quality accounting, tax and consulting services. With over 20 years of experience, she uses a proactive approach and is considered a Trusted Advisor for her clients.
Joy is an active member of the following organizations:

National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)
She also serves on the Board of Directors of Christian Business Women’s Association (CBWA) as Treasurer.

After working 20 years in various finance and accounting positions at Honeywell, Kathleen stepped into the world of Public Accounting. Since August 2005 she has specialized in Individual Tax Return preparation. Kathleen has a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. She enjoys being outdoors and boating in exotic locations. Tricia is the newest member of our team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from DeVry Institute of Technology. Tricia brings with her 15 years of tax experience with a strong focus on business returns. Her experience with QuickBooks, financial analysis, statement preparation, and preparation of individual, partnership and corporate tax returns has prepared her to confidently attend to various service and financial needs for you and your business. Jill is our Administrative Assistant. Her customer service background comes from the commercial interiors industry were she worked closely with Account Managers and clients while leading the Sales Assistant team. After leaving the sales arena, Jill was the assistant to the Design Vice President. Her extra time is spent with her family or at the scrapbook table. Currently she is attending Chandler Gilbert Community College and aspires to become a graphic designer.
